Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dot collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, iOS app, connectors, browser features, and related services.

1. Who we are

Dot ("Dot," "we," "us," or "our") provides an AI personal assistant for iPhone and the website at https://trydot.ai. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@trydot.ai.

2. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Dot and which features you enable.

Information you provide

  • Messages, prompts, instructions, preferences, and feedback you choose to give Dot.
  • Information you provide when contacting us, joining a waitlist, requesting support, or sending feedback.
  • Account or authorization information you choose to connect through third-party services such as Google, Gmail, or other connector providers.

Information from app permissions and connectors

  • Content or metadata from Apple services or device permissions you explicitly grant, such as Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, Messages, Shortcuts, or similar iOS capabilities.
  • Data returned by connector APIs you enable, such as Gmail profile, labels, message summaries, message content, or search results, depending on the scopes you approve.
  • Browser page content, URLs, page metadata, form fields, and page elements when you use Dot's browser tools or allow Dot to read or interact with a website.

Information collected automatically

  • Website log data such as IP address, browser type, device characteristics, referring pages, pages viewed, and timestamps.
  • App diagnostics, crash information, device information, feature usage, and performance data when needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve Dot.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve Dot and its website.
  • Respond to your requests, run approved actions, and personalize the assistant experience.
  • Connect to services you authorize and perform actions you request through those services.
  • Maintain app security, prevent abuse, debug issues, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Communicate with you about support, updates, policy changes, and product information.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Local storage and device data

Dot is designed to keep as much personal context as practical on your device. Depending on your settings and enabled features, conversations, memory, preferences, browser sessions, connector state, and action history may be stored locally on your iPhone. Some features may still require network requests, such as connector API calls, web browsing, model execution, analytics, app distribution, or customer support.

5. Connectors, OAuth, and Google API data

When you connect a third-party service, Dot only requests the permissions needed for the features shown to you. You can revoke access through the provider, through Dot where available, or by contacting us.

If you connect Google services, Dot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide or improve the user-facing features you request, to maintain security, or to comply with law. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not use it to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

6. Browser features

Dot may include an in-app browser that lets you visit websites, sign in to accounts, and ask Dot to read or interact with pages after you approve access. Websites you visit may set cookies, maintain sessions, show content, or collect information according to their own privacy policies. Dot is not responsible for third-party websites or services.

7. When we share information

We may share information:

  • With service providers who help operate Dot, such as hosting, analytics, diagnostics, support, payment, app distribution, or infrastructure providers.
  • With third-party services you choose to connect, only as needed to perform actions you request.
  • For legal, safety, and security reasons, including to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, and users.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

8. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website and third-party service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law. Local app data may remain on your device until you delete it, remove the app, clear the relevant feature data, or revoke a connected account.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use Dot and connected services only in environments you trust.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, or to request a copy of your information. You can also revoke third-party connector permissions through the provider's account settings. To make a request, email hello@trydot.ai.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available under applicable law.

12. Children

Dot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. International users

If you access Dot from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your location.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Dot after an update means the updated policy applies to your use.
